Erechines (northern Sundur Coast)
The Erechine Rajir was a large and effective empire on the northern shores of the Emel Sea which was overrun during the Breaking of Nations in the Sixth Age, and its territory absorbed by the Taorminite empire. The Erechines took many of their cultural cues from the local dwarves but also had extensive contact with the nearby elven reams of Borytheneion and Zmyrnaleia.
The Erechines are perceived as flamboyant and long-winded, tellers of great stories and proud of their heritage. They are also seen as highly sophisticated, having developed a cosmopolitan artistic expression, cuisine and wine culture; their twangy accent is highly recognisable. The countryside around Melk-Makar and Havar-Erek is among the most heavily settled in all of Casiphon. The area is famed for its horses and heavy cavalry, and has developed a feudalistic system of rule, with local barons answering to regional lords answering to the kings of the two major cities.
