Coastal Rythi

The coastal Rythi were formerly part of a highly advanced empire, called the Velekoth-Asai, who became exiles during the Breaking of Nations in the Sixth Cycle when their homeland was overrun. They, along with elves from the realm of Zmyrnaleia, fled to the islands offshore and returned to the area at the beginning of the Seventh Cycle, founding the city of Ephylla (meaning 'the return'). Most heavily influenced by the Zmyrnaliote elves, the Velekothi had a seafaring civilisation which traded far and wide across the world. The coastal Rythi, though much of their ancient culture is lost and forgotten, are still impressive sailors.   The Rythi are regarded as happy-go-lucky and relaxed though somewhat unreliable and unlikely to follow through on long-term plans, often a bit credulous, though always open and friendly. They are also seen as born optimists and ever the lovers of a great journey.   Real-world analogue - Phoenicians/Carthaginians   Major settlements:
