Athena, the Hero's Aid

Athena is reputed to have been first an intellectual who laid down the principles of scientific enquiry, then a champion of justice and dedicated defender of all fairness, gifted both physically and intellectually.  After her deification by the saviour-titans, she directed the overall strategy of the war effort and also as a general on the battlefield, taking command of tactics and fighting on the front lines when necessary.  Her close counterpart in the dwarven pantheon is Minerva Consilis Stator.   Athena is venerated both by those who seek out knowledge and truth and those who seek to do right, as well as leaders and generals of all sorts.  Her power underlies the ability of reason to overcome brute strength, calculated heroism and, if necessary, sacrifice for the greater good.   Appearance: Athena is portrayed as a plain woman in full warrior's attire, most often a shield, spear and helmet, with particularly bright and piercing eyes.
