Argus, the Hundred-eyed Sentinel

Argus was the beloved of Hera, who tended to and later guarded her most sacred garden and temple.  He was deified by the saviour-titans as their tireless watchman and protector, ever on the lookout for the enemy and ever suspicious even of his allies.  His counterpart is Janus Bifros Aliater, the many-faced guardian god associated with careful decision making.   Argus is venerated by all investigators and scholars who seek to pierce deceptions and uncover hidden truth, and sentinels and scouts who seek to unveil hidden dangers and traps.  He is the least widely worshipped of the lesser gods, most often as Hera's own attendant.   Appearance: Argus is usually portrayed as a plain-clad guard with few discerning characteristics, able to blend in with his surroundings or with others.  Occasionally, his body is portrayed covered in a hundred unblinking eyes.   Symbols: Argus is symbolised by a tower or by the unblinking eye.   Personality: Argus is usually a taciturn observer, taking stock and making silent note of what he sees.  When he speaks, his concise statements and questions give away little but a piercing discernment of those around him, or gently tease out the truth, unveiling inconsistencies or lies.   Game rules:
Alignment Cleric Domains Other
Lawful Neutral: Argus upholds to status quo and follows the commands of his superiors without question. Knowledge, Protection* Argus has many followers among inquisitors and investigators as well as guardians and sentinels who seek to detect hidden dangers before they happen.  His paladins especially seek to discover dangerous cults and secret societies.
