Apollo, the Golden Civiliser

Apollo is believed to have been a young elven man of consummate skill in many areas: an athlete, a musician, a hunter, a wordsmith.  He was deified by the saviour-titans and with his twin sister Artemis became one of the Twin Hunters, who tracked and slew the monsters spawned by Typhon's power.  His close counterpart in the dwarven pantheon is Phoebus Fulmis Chrysaor.   When elevated to the Celestial Plane, Apollo gained power over the Sun, directing it in its regular path across the heavens.  Apollo's power is also involved in civilisation and progress, being the patron of many skills and talents, including music, scholarship, athletics and art.   Apollo is one of the most commonly venerated of the lesser gods.  He is worshipped in particular by students of all types, poets, artists, athletes, scholars and musicians.  He is often involved in rites of passage as children become adults.   Appearance: Apollo is portrayed as a well-dressed, golden-haired young man with a radiate crown or halo around his head, carrying a bow, musical instrument (often a lyre) or scroll, depending on his particular aspect.
