Backup Agents
Backup agents represent the grunts and "extras" that can accompany a team of lead agents on their investigation. They are run in combat situations by the player, but are always roleplayed by the GM.
Backup agents either provide direct or remote support. They can only provide one type of support at a time, but can switch during the case. In either case, backup agents never roll dice. They use unique abilities to provide their support.
Backup agents do not have AC and do not make saving throws. Instead, make a death save for them. On a failure, they suffer a wound. Each agent can only sustain so many wounds before being overwhelmed. If they do not receive medical attention by the end of the session, roll an additional death save. On a success, they recover one wound. On a failure they die. Healing done to a backup agent restores one wound, and temporary HP grants a temporary wound.
