Gleib (Gle- eb)

Gleib is a city of trade. Being at the heart of Southern Oochino's trade route to Iranbelle gives this Gleib a wider diversity of people.

Demographics

The population has a slight skew towards Hafflings. Even though South Oochino is home to Tieflings, The trading port has attracted rapacious individuals.

Government

Iranbelle's hand is far reaching and imposing. Although this city has it's own governing body, Iranbelle's government will step in if there's any sign of trouble. Gleib's interal government has a single head. A tiefling that has political climbed their way up the ladder to be in the position she's at.

Defences

There are guard towers spread throughout the city and there is a local police force. But due to the relaxed nature of the laws, often a lot of crimes are left unaddressed unless they occur in the upper district. The city is kept safe under Iranbelle's threat of attack if Gleib is attacked.

Infrastructure

Gleib is seen as one of the more seedy cities on Carthya. Gambling, and brothels are not outlawed. Because of this there is a large industry of Casino's and large inns. The trade route has also created a well established trading port. Although Selren Belanore is home to some of the most powerful magic, dark magic is frowned upon. Because of this darker, evil magic is more widely available for trade in Gleib.

Districts

There are multiple districts within Gleib. The upper district is where wealthy travelers stay at. It features large high end casino's and high end inns as well as the political castle of the city.   The red light district is also a popular visiting site for wealthy individuals however, they tend to be more descrite about their visits to this district. A majority of the brothels and more shady casino's take place here.   The trade district is located near the port and is a bit more rambunctious in terms of people coming in and out. Merchants set up shop here and there are often large sales and imports of products that get distributed to the rest of the continent. People come in and out and although some merchants stay for a bit longer, you probably won't recognize a face if you return 10 years later.   The commerce district is the more established trading and buy place. People that have made their name in selling and trading stay here. There are darker parts of the commerce district where you could possibly find some illegal items that even Gleib doesn't endorse. It's an open secret among the city that these places exist but it's a reason for the cities success, so it isn't bothered with.
