Fladdock
The Verulin people of Fladdock are a nation of explorers, shipwrights, and engineers. They make nothing magical, unlike their neighbors in Fris. They are unusually dark-skinned for a northern culture, because most of these people were displaced from Tiris early in the history of Carrisor. They are the greatest sailors in the continent, perhaps the world, and more than half the tall ships in Carrisor come from the shipyards in Meere.
The region’s name is a corruption of the term file dock, a type of efficient ship factory. In the Arsenale at Meere, a hundred men can build an entire ship in one day, and a navy of two hundred unbuilt warships lies waiting in the docks and warehouses of the city.
