Featherfolk

Canim is home to two bird-like races. First there are the Aarakocra, referred to more commonly as the Wingfolk. Aarakocra are a hawk-like race, who are highly respected and tend to hold high positions in society. They are valued warriors and explorers thanks to their power of flight, and many have involved themselves in scholarly pursuits or have even dedicated themselves the the clergy. On the other hand there are the flightless Kenku, commonly called Birdfolk. There is a widespread prejudice and suspicion against the raven-like Kenku, who are typically forced to live on the fringes of society. While the Aarakocra are gifted magic users and have even allied with the High Elves in a pursuit to restore scholarly magic to its former glory, the Kenku rely more on natural magics and have adapted more to make use of technologies traded to them by the other people of Canim.
