Erudites
Once part of the Castidian Empire, the city of Erudites established its independence after the collapse. Though there are no open hostilities between the two cities, there is still a bitter rivalry between the two, especially when it comes to dominion over the sea. Erudites is the seat of scholarly pursuits in Canim, with the largest library and the only university in all of Canim that focuses on arcane studies. The primary god of Erudites is Kenzho, though the worship of Opodus and even Tenigar is not uncommon. Erudites boasts some of the best technology in Canim as well, second only to the people of Mount Greatheart. The city is governed by the University of Eru, with the High Chancellor being elected by his or her academic peers. Erudites and the small surrounding settlements were where the majority of the Minotaurs were kept as chattel slaves. Of the cities of the Castidian Empire, Erudites suffered the most damage during the War of the Chains, and as such Minotaurs are not openly welcomed in the city. The Explorers' Lodge has an office that operates out of Erudites, though it is smaller and has had very little success penetrating the deserts south of the city.
