Castides

The largest city in Canim, Castides was once a mighty empire, before overextending its boundaries allowed monsters and their enemies to destroy their less defended territories. The War of the Chains, the revolution that caused the loss of all of the empire's Minotaur slaves, also contributed to their downfall. Despite this, Castides remains the most powerful naval and military nation. Folgoran is the primary god of Castides, and his worship is enforced by the state. Castides sees itself as a bastion of goodness and morality, an exemplary society whose duty and destiny it is to spread the word of law across Canim. The ruler of Castides retains the title of Emperor, and is an elected official, though all of the candidates for election are virtually royalty to begin with, and only those with a recognized status are allowed to vote.   Primary Inhabitants: Humans, High Elves, Aarakocra Other Notable Inhabitants: Minotaurs, Rock Gnomes, Hill Dwarves, Swiftfoot Halflings
