Syronea

"I have nothing but respect for those who stayed, for there is nothing left here for the people. I have never seen a such a beautiful city with such little opportunity for business or hope for the future" - Syronean refugee in Myzea
Syronea sits on the Western shores of Lake Savengard. This city, once peaceful and rich, was once a byword for luxury and decadence. This was the center of the Empire's silk industry, as silk worms are native to the lands East of the great lake. the city was once an entrepot for the goods flowing in from what was known as Transtanaesia, the imperial trading outposts and protectorates beyond the great lake. But the disintegration of the Empire led to the neglect and eventual fall of the far Eastern trading posts, and a barbarian warlord eventually ripped the Transtanaesia from the Empire's grasp. The senatorial families of Syronea were forced to relearn the arts of war, dusting off old gilded armors and sharpening bejeweled swords to lead their followers against Urkhun's warriors.    Similar to Argoros, the city has been forced to fend for itself for decades now. In addition, many of the population have already fled east to Myzea or further, after the trading opportunities all dried up. Citizens of the city can't help but cast nervous glances out onto the lake, worried of the day when they see warships of the Urkhun appear.
