Pravend

Paravenos was the second major colony founded by Calradios the Great, the second emperor of the Calradian Empire and it soon succeeded Charasea as the capital of the Westfold. Eventually, the empire's focus moved back east, but Paravenos retained its primacy as the economic center of the West. When King Rhuiden Dey Meroc, of House Dey Meroc beseiged the city, he recognized Paravenos would be far more valuable as a seat of power than as simply as a source of loot, and negotiated its surrender with local senators. It passed to a cadet branch of Rhuiden's line, the dey Tihr clan, and is today known as Pravend.   The city is significantly populated, and is situated on a plain that is perfect for growing grain, flax, and raising horses. Many of the famous warhorses of the Swadians are raised on the plains of Pravend, and merchants will pay significant money to take ready-trained warhorses back to their homelands. This is the only national capital which is not owned directly by the monarch. This is because Pravend is more of a symbolic capital, where the king actually resides is Sargoth.
