Hirelings

Hirelings are.... hireable!   Every city will undoubtedly have muscle for hire, and other skilled adventuring types looking for work. Check the taverns, guild halls, and even local guard barracks, and you will find many very skilled people, looking for a well-paying job that will get them out of their current circumstances. Be warned though, some may have tendencies and traits that you weren't expecting. Make sure you properly vet your hirelings before putting your lives on the line with them.    The expected pay for hirelings is variable, with the PHB numbers as a guideline. For example you may be able to find a mercenary who is willing to work for only 1 Gp per day, but might not be as experienced as one demanding 2 Gp per day.
