Indari
Indari (in-DAR-ee) is the Satyr god of raucous, drunken parties, reincarnation, and honorably atoning for the crimes of your past. While he is often invoked and honored at parties and festivals, he is not formally worshiped in common society.
Indari claims that he drank so much that the Old Gods noticed and that's why he became a god. This is probably not true, though his habits did become a key part of his divine portfolio after he ascended. In reality, he earned his apotheosis by willingly being reincarnated in the past so he could personally fight the demons in the second demon war. He became a shining power in the struggle for mortal life, resurrecting countless soldiers to fight again and felling as demons as the gods themselves.
Some centuries after his deification, Indari came to favor a mortal dragonborn known as Gikthus. Indari became fond of visiting the mortal plane to drink with Gikthus and was amused by the hungover antics of his friend. With a little help from Indari, Gikthus became not only a prodigious drinker but a proper hero in his own right, becoming a god after death.
It's common to pour a drink for Indari at a celebration, or even just a good night out at the tavern, but he has no temples built in his honor and most tavern keepers prefer to worship Castor since his devotees are more tame. There is, however, a cult of Indari whose teachings and rituals echo the story of Indari: servitude, betrayal, reincarnation, redemption, ascension. It is their belief that Indari will grant them a journey across lifetimes to become perfect souls, and that journey begins by studying his story.
History
Indari was a Rodosian priest of Mithrais during the dark ages, but he was tempted by whispers of power from the void. Slowly, he fell from grace and worked powerful magic to help usher demons into the material world during the first demon war. Though he was one of many people twisted by the void, he alone fell from heights of holiness as a high ranking member of the clergy. As punishment, Mithrais cursed him to live a hundred lives to see the suffering and destruction his betrayal wrought. Before going into his final lifetime, he stood before Mithrais and recounted the many things he had seen and learned. He begged for the chance to right the wrong he had committed, and his god was pleased. He was born a Satyr, but with the wings of a gold dragon. When he reached adulthood, Mithrais bestowed upon him a staff with a guiding spirit named Ibahalii to aid him in his redeeming quest. According to Indari, he not only redeemed himself in that final lifetime, but he also made sure that all people, men and gods alike, knew that he was there for one last lifetime. He was famous for inspiring his allies and fighting fearlessly, and then drinking a tavern dry all the next day to celebrate victory.Indari claims that he drank so much that the Old Gods noticed and that's why he became a god. Worship
Worshipers of Indari can be found all over Calistaph. He is well known both for his heroism in the war against Niadra and for ramping up the intensity of any celebration. He originally hails from Rodos but his worship there has somewhat declined in recent years as the country becomes more militant and litigious. It's common to pour a drink for Indari at a celebration, or even just a good night out at the tavern, but he has no temples built in his honor and most tavern keepers prefer to worship Castor since his devotees are more tame.
