The First Light

In the beginning Gaea created the world. Now the world was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Goddess travelled above the waters and the earth. She saw that to nurish her creation she needed light, and so she sought the help of Pelor who created the Sun and the First light. And they saw that it was good. Using her powers Gaea, molded the mountains and fields, and with the aid of Pelor created flora to fill the world with beauty. Seeing their creation come to life, the Gods created creatures to populate the waters, skies, and land. And they saw that it was good.   It was then that other Gods noticed their creation. Some wished to aid the Creators, and vowed to look after aspects of the worlds domain such as the forests, the seas, or the skies, others wished to add their own creations into the world such as Moradin who created the Dwarves, and Corellon Larethian who created the Elves. Mystra seeing intelligent beings walk the world created magic and The Weave. Other Gods were less polite and did not ask permission to add their creation into the world, and so Auril brought cold and darkness to the world, and Tiamat brought Dragons and Greed. And so the once peaceful world started to deteriorate.
