Battle at The Mountain's Throat II Report

Pushing in, the party drove the Goblins back, forcing them to retreat towards the caves. Brok-Bjorn charged ahead and landed a huge blow on the Albino Goblin, Gnarish, who panicked and drank a potion that turned him invisible. He tried to escape, but Brok-Bjorn landed another heavy blow on him, despite his invisibility. As he scarpered, Straadmere caught sight of his splashes in the shallow water, and gave chase after this invisible quarry. What followed was a drawn out game of cat and mouse and Straadmere used his superior perception to track the goblin, landing a few solid hits and, despite him slipping through his fingers more than once, finally finishing the goblin off with a lucky hit from his fragmentation spell.   Meanwhile, the rest of the party finished off a handful more goblins and pushed towards the cave mouths where the goblins had fled to. They held position and waited for Straadmere to catch up. When he finally arrived a minute later, toting the goblin's musket, they pushed on into the centre cave, led by Brok-Bjorn. The caves were well lit and dry, and it was clear the goblins had tried to make them comfortable. But the goblins themselves were nowhere to be seen. Pushing in further, the group came across a large cave where a strange roaring noise was emanating from. Brok-Bjorn and Straadmere quickly discovered a Girallon, strapped with armour plating, held in a cage which it was attempting to destroy from within. The group turned tail and fled to a different cave, hoping to stay out it's reach. It was a good decision, as the soon heard it break the cage and wreck the cave before thundering outside. Esme used Zephyr to keep an eye on it and watched as it climbed the cliffs above the caves to a small plateau, where the goblins were emerging from a number of small tunnels. The Giarallon laid into the goblins, throwing a number of them off the cliff, before wandering off to the south-west, apparently satisfied.   The group took this as sign that they should quit while they were ahead, and made their way out of the gully, but not before collecting goblin ears and heads as proof for the Alderman of Leviva that the threat was dealt with...
