Overview

The Mists of Avalonreach are a fey-touched glade perpetually wrapped in silver fog. Located deep within the forested highlands of Tarnith, it is believed to be one of the closest convergences between the Material Plane and the Feywild. Time bends, sounds blur, and reality shifts within the mist's reach—few who enter leave unchanged.   This is the final resting place of the The Blade of Whispers, cast into the mists by King Caedryn after his betrayal. It is now guarded by the enigmatic The Green Knight, who tests all who seek the blade.  

Appearance

A sprawling grove veiled in pale mist at all times, with faint blue lights flickering in the fog. Trees grow twisted and ancient, their limbs draped in moss and frost. The air is silent but heavy with meaning, as though every breath carries the memory of ages past.  

Magical Properties

Temporal Displacement: Time flows differently. Hours outside may be days—or moments—within.

Vision Phantoms: Travelers may see visions of their past or future, often twisted through fey metaphor.

Mistbound Barrier: Only those of pure intent, or guided by fate, may reach the glade’s heart.

Myth and Lore

The Last March of Caedryn: After his mortal wounding, King Caedryn vanished into Avalonreach, where he cast the Blade of Whispers into the mist, ensuring it would not fall to darkness.

The Trial of the Green Knight: To retrieve the blade, a mortal must endure a ritual duel and prove their virtue—echoing the ancient tales of the Green Knight's challenge.

Associated Spirits

The Green Knight: A towering fey guardian clad in bark and moss, bound to test those who would reclaim the blade or disturb the glade’s sanctity.

Mist Wraiths: Not malevolent, but watchful. These translucent echoes appear when lies are spoken or oaths are broken.
