Cycle of Reflection

“When the leaves fall and the air stills, the land listens — and so must we.”

General Information

Type: Seasonal Cycle
Region Affected: Tarnith
Associated Elements: Autumn, Spirits, Memory, Ancestry

Overview

The Cycle of Reflection is one of Tarnith’s four sacred seasonal cycles, occurring during the fall months when leaves turn gold and the veil between worlds thins. It is a time of remembrance, meditation, and communion with the ancestors. The land slows, animals prepare for winter, and spiritual phenomena become more frequent.

Ritual Practices

  • Ancestor Vigils: Druids light rootwood fires and leave offerings at sacred groves or stone circles.
  • Spiritwalks: Guided meditations where practitioners walk through mist-heavy woods seeking visions or ancestral communion.
  • Rite of the Veil: A solemn chant performed at twilight to honor those who have passed and invite guidance for the year ahead.
  • Cultural Significance

The Druids of the Veil consider this cycle one of quiet reverence. Many refrain from conflict, craft masks of bark and ash to reflect inward truths, and teach children through ancestral stories passed orally during this time.
