Briarveil Hollow

"What the thorns protect is not meant for careless eyes." — Druidic proverb

General Information

Type: Enchanted Glade (Hidden Forest Hollow)
Location: Inner folds of Na Dreapa Ceobhrán
Environment: Dense forest undergrowth surrounded by briar-thickets and evermist

Overview

Briarveil Hollow is a concealed grove within the fog-bound forests of Tarnith, encircled by natural walls of thorned vines and everblooming bramble. Mist clings thickly to its edges, and travelers report an overwhelming sense of peace—or dread—when near its threshold. It is said that only those carrying pure intentions or ancestral blessings may find a safe path inward.   Inside, the Hollow holds sacred earth, soft light filtered through ancient canopy, and a singular pool whose surface never ripples.

Mystical Features

  • Thorn-Ward Barrier: The hollow is shielded by a living briar maze that shifts subtly to confound intruders.
  • Sanctum Rootstone: At the center lies a half-buried stone inscribed with lost druidic runes that glow faintly when rituals are performed nearby.
  • Evershade Nectar: Flowers within the Hollow produce a rare nectar used in healing and memory-restoration rites.
  • Cultural Importance

Briarveil Hollow is treated as a place of sanctuary and deep introspection. Initiates of the Druids of the Veil are sometimes led here in silence to begin their spiritual paths. It is also considered a refuge for spirits who have not yet passed beyond the veil—watched over, but undisturbed.   Entry without invitation is taboo, and even druids treat the grove with solemn reverence.
