Prolonged exposure to these volatile magical substances can lead to a debilitating condition known as Arcane Corruption. This manual serves as a guide to identifying, mitigating, and treating the effects of this affliction.   Arcane Corruption is a progressive magical affliction resulting from the prolonged absorption of residual energies emitted by Magioleum and Manatite. While harmless in small quantities, excessive exposure overwhelms the body’s natural defenses, causing both physical and metaphysical harm. The afflicted become conduits for unstable arcane forces, leading to a cascade of health complications and unpredictable magical phenomena.  

Stages of Arcane Corruption

 

Stage 1: Arcane Taint

  Symptoms   Skin discoloration or glowing veins, often resembling faint magical runes.   Minor headaches accompanied by whispers or distant ringing.   Unpredictable surges in magical abilities.   Signs in Magioleum Workers: Workers may report feeling more attuned to magic but also experiencing unusual fatigue or random spell mishaps.   Prognosis: At this stage, Arcane Corruption is fully reversible if detected early.  

Stage 2: Anima Burn

  Symptoms:   Persistent fatigue, nosebleeds, and coughing fits.   Development of glowing lesions or terrible burns on the skin.   Hallucinations of spectral figures or magical patterns. Hazards: Individuals in this stage may inadvertently destabilize nearby magical apparatuses or become dependent on Magioleum’s presence, exhibiting withdrawal symptoms when separated.   Prognosis: Reversible through intensive treatment; however, permanent damage is possible without intervention.  

Stage 3: Anivita Collapse

  Symptoms:   Severe bodily convulsions, uncontrollable glowing or discharges of magic, and even mutations.   Formation of crystalline structures on the body, causing intense pain and limiting mobility.   Dangerous magical outbursts, including random teleportation, explosions, or spontaneous spell effects.   Prognosis: Irreversible damage occurs without immediate treatment. In the event of death, the body crystallizes into pure Manatite, becoming a hazardous artifact.  

Treatment Options

 

1. Early-Stage Treatment (Arcane Taint)

Herbal Detoxification: A mixture of anti-magic herbs such as Nullroot and Tawari can flush minor arcane toxins.   Magical Cleansing: Low-level spells such as Lesser Restoration are effective at this stage.  

2. Intermediate Treatment (Anima Burn)

  Specialized Detox: Requires an alchemist or arcane specialist to create a potion capable of neutralizing advanced corruption.   Ritual Healing: Involves a group of clerics performing a week-long cleansing ritual. This process may require rare components such as Aetherglass or Voidspun Silk.  

3. Advanced Treatment (Anivita Collapse)

  Ritual of Separation: A dangerous and complex ritual to siphon corrupted magic into a controlled artifact. Often leads to lingering health issues for the patient.   Temporal Stasis: Placing the afflicted in stasis to prevent further damage until a cure is discovered.  

Preventive Measures

  Workers and researchers should always wear anti-magic gear when handling Magioleum or Manatite. Standard-issue Arcane Filter Masks and Mana-Suppressive Gloves are mandatory in most industrial settings.  

2. Exposure Limits
