Father Littlechild
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Born into a devout family in Sadapintal, Father Littlechild was marked early by his unwavering obedience to the Vatican and its pursuit of control over the supernatural. He became a Priestat a young age and quickly proved himself not only as a scholar of scripture but also as someone willing to enforce harsh discipline in the name of Infinite Grace.
When placed in charge of the Vatican orphanage in Sadapintal, he gained access to children considered "special cases", those with unusual traits, like Lyra Whitesmith's purple eyes. To Father Littlechild, these children were not vulnerable souls to be nurtured, but weapons waiting to be sharpened. His methods blended rigid religious studies with psychological pressure and force trials against the supernatural.
He became known within Vatican circles as reliable, though "unyielding to a fault." To the children under his care, he was feared, a figure who cloaked cruelty in the language of duty and salvation.
Education
Theology: Mastery of Eternal Harmony scriptures and doctrines of Infinite Grace.
Linguistics: Able to read and translate fragments of “High” Cosmic and other rare tongues, which he used in occult training.
Occult Studies: Indoctrinated in Vatican-approved (and some forbidden) knowledge of Vampyres, Ghosts, and Gloombringers.
Discipline Training: Learned rigid methods of control, punishment, and “conditioning” in Vatican-run schools.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Father Littlechild sees his life's purpose as serving the Vatican, no matter the human cost. He believes supernatural gifts are not blessings but dangerous weapons, and that only the Vatican can safely wield them. Deep down, he is terrified of being seen as weak or disobedient to Infinite Grace's will, and so he overcompensates with cruelty and strictness. He wants to be remembered within Vatican ranks as a man who never faltered, no matter how harsh his actions.
