Ratling

Luckily, the fence found in Gulean is one of those dreaded ratmen. Saul passed along to us the secret code phrase to speak to their guild. Before when muttered, I figured it a true story of their wretched kind:   “John?! John Ratmen is that you? How’s your brother, Derik?”   “He’s doing ‘ight. I ate ‘em.”
-- Venn, Brewer at the Brass Casket
There is no place in Cabochon without ratlings. Wandering endlessly, their nests dot sewers and slums across Cabochon. Scurrying ratlings are often spat upon and have adopted it as a cordial greeting. Their scruffy and pestilent appearance cement their place at the fringes of society. Despite this, ratlings know their way around the realms and are amongst the hardiest races known.   Very little is known about ratlings and their society. They are considered monstrous, rarely seek adventure outside of their own hovels, and very rarely converse outside of Chatter.
