Tsuchigumo
A monster of webs and illusions, this tsuchigumo was headed for Lumi Basso. While the hunters burned it down, everything it was capable of has yet to come to light.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Considered a shapeshifting demon, the tsuchigumo normally appears in the form of a giant hairy spider.
Genetics and Reproduction
Drawing regular spiders to it, when they feast of a tsuchigumo's blood, they become one.
Growth Rate & Stages
A tsuchigumo grows after feasting from the blood of another. First from the tsuchigumo that turned a regular spider into one, then from the blood of others.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They hunt by catching their prey in their webs, but have an array of other abilities to use as well. They do not only spin webs, but illusions, to keep their prey from struggling. Tsuchigumo are fast, and can attack with a grapple of their legs, or with a strong bite. They can also spit venom, which seems very similar to their blood - sticky, venomous, burning.
