The Port Atlantis Goblin Market

The Port Atlantis Goblin Market got its name from the abandoned theme park & aquarium it now bases itself in. After Ubuntu Serif took the role of CEO, the Market has undergone some reforms to be more appealing to the Silver Spire and other Changeling customers, notably forbidding the trade of slaves. Though there is some resentment among those who traded in slaves, much of it has been countered with the flow of "exotic" goods from the mortal world. Though their reputation has been improving, it is still considered an unsavory and dangerous place by many Changelings. The danger largely comes from being deceived into bad deals, rather than violence, however: Violence is forbidden and this policy is strongly enforced. Even the True Fae hesitate to cause trouble due to the sheer inconvenience of having the entire Goblin Market turn on them.

Notable Figures

  • Ubuntu Serif , CEO, CFO, Head of R&D. He operates a rare bookstore in the mortal world and a stall at Port Atlantis for body modifications.
  • "Chekov" of Chekov's Guns: A goblin merchant running a kiosk specializing in weapons. Despite the name, weapons of any kind are for sale, including a variety of "lightsabers": Swords hedgeforged from sunlight (is good against vampires!), moonlight, and such.
  • The White Elephant: Specializes in moving luxury goods that often turn out to be useless. In the event that someone angers the Goblin Market, his heaviest goods tend to wind up in the violator's home. Known for selling a unicorn to a customer who didn't think about upkeep until the sale was final.
  • The Professor: A strange monkey-man who's grown quite fond of Genotite manipulation and runs the "New You Boutique" alongside Ubuntu Serif. Known for rambling about his vision where "man is not a slave to his biology," and long lectures on his theories.
  • The Merchant of Mixed Blessings: A hooded figure covered in occult paraphenalia, the Merchant of Mixed Blessings sells curses for use on enemies, as well as his signature stock of "mixed blessings" which are curses that come with some benefits.

Structure

The Goblin Market appears as a disorganized mess to outside viewers, but is bound by numerous pledges that are kept secret. Currently, Ubuntu Serif holds the position of CEO after ousting his predecessor.

Culture

While most anything can be bought, sold, or bartered at most Goblin Market, the Port Atlantis Market has recently undergone reforms, working as a gray market. Trafficking in sapient beings is now forbidden, and certain goods, such as love potions, are considered contraband. Some of the members resent the changes, but most have found the road to legitimacy has increased the number of changeling customers.

Public Agenda

Put simply, the Goblin Market exists to profit, albeit with a strange definition of "profit." Doing so also ensures a steady supply of Glamour for the Hobgoblin members.

Assets

The Market's stock rotates regularly, but all manner of tokens, trifles, Goblin Fruits, and antiques can be found in their inventory.
