The Great River Trade Dispute

A bitter dispute erupts between Port Kolin merchants and The Delvings mining interests over river tolls and trade routes along the Argen River. Port Kolin, controlling the delta trade, attempts to impose new tariffs. Northern settlements, led by The Delvings, protest and appeal to the High Thane for arbitration. Grimirsson refuses to intervene, leaving the matter unresolved. Port Kolin's Lord Krondar eventually negotiates a temporary compromise, but the damage is done - settlements begin to realise the High Thane will not mediate their disputes.
