This phemomina was first seen in 11195, where those who died without appropriate rites rose again as undead.

it may have begun earlier but the first solid evidence was reported during a skimish on the Athantian and Kalites boarder, where by the end of the following day all the fallen had risen as undead.
As the phenomina has continued the power of the risen dead has been increasing, early reports were of zombies from those recently dead, and skeleton from the numberless conflicts in the wild. More recently, from approximately 11987, this has now started to include inteligent undead, and now this phase of the phenomina is becoming more common
