The Order of the Redeeming Fire
The Order of the Redeeming Fire is an ancient Paladinic knightly order of Dalithie formed by a splinter group of Fire Giants, they were founded in 5242 in response to the deamonic threats of the Third Deamon War. They were particularly effective during the third Deamon war, with their natural immunity to fire, much of the destrctive magics of the deamon forces was ineffective against them.
Towards the end of the Third Deamon war, the Order was arriving on their, then, signature mounts, Roc's, with their leaders riding Pheonixes. A mark of the favour of Dalithie, to have found and befriended such mighty creatures.
After the Third Deamon war had finished the Order spent much of its initial peacetime opperations assisting in the reconstruction of damages settlements and fortifications for the surface races and it was during this time that the order constructed their fortress, within the body of an active volcano. They captured the flowing magama and channeled it through pipeworks to create a great mechanised fortress from where they continued opperations, this now forms the sacred heart of the Fire Giant city of Kargaxtrit, providing the heat and magama that this city now uses. Much of how the members of The Order of The Redeeming Fire managed to capture and redirect the heat and magama of an active volcano is unknown. Although the Fire Giants who rely on it within Kargaxtrit have maintained it and made minor additions to the complex system to operate parts of their city, its proper functions and operations are now lost to them.
The Order with drew from operations across the surface world sometime in the 7600s when they became an active force helping the Fire Giants to establish safe cities for their peoples withing the dangers of the Darklands, leading many military campaigns securing natural caverns, material resources and trade routes with other allied suterrainian nations.
The details of much of these campaigns has been lost to time with the dissapearnce of the Order and little other historic writtings about both the FIre Giant nations as a whole and the specifics of this breakaway faction in general. It is thought that the Order was lost to the last member in an expedition to the Orv layer of the Darklands, though what they sought in those treacherous depths is not known.
