Church of Lathlane
Churches of Lathlane tend to double up as courthouses, as the priesthood of Lathlane are usually the experts in law and fair arbiters of its application. Though they don't usually hold hearings on specific days, helping settle matters as they arise, in large, complex cases, they may gather at set times to allow the details to be presented in sufficient detail for a fair ruling.
The church of Lathlane works in conjunction with any local representatives of the settlement's laws, such as a sheriff or constable. They also work with the ruling bodies to address any failings in the local laws and advise on the fair running of the land.

Priesthood
The Priesthood of Lathlane spend much of their time studying law, both its current state and its historical application, looking for an absolute in fairness. They debate with each other the nuances of each part of the law, challenging their understanding and looking for circumstances in which it fails in its intent.
They hold signing of treaties, deals and laws in absolute, to them they represent part of the will of Lathlane so take great care in ensuring any they work on are clear in intent, fair in application and robust.
Because of this, not only do the priests get asked to oversee any legal cases, they often act as arbiters in the creation of trade deals, sometimes one priest for each party signing the deal, though they will argue with each other as to the accuracy of the deal, it is not due to a loyalty to the party they are helping, but a desire to accurately encode the deal.
Priests of Lathlane have also historically assisted in the creation and signing of peace treaties, again priest will work on behalf of a nation, to ensure their part of the treaties are fair and accurate.
