Church of Damash

The church of Damash is a bastion of truth and protection for all the ancestries of the world, treating them all with an even and fair mind, protecting those who could be oppressed by the more powerful or influential members of society and bringing healing to those in need of help, often free for the commoners of the lands. Their churches are generally found in any major city in the Maelstrom nations, but they are also a common sight in the far-flung outposts scattered throughout the world's wilds. It is not uncommon to find priests of Damash also sitting as judges within a town or city court, as the priesthood is considered the expert in translating these laws. Often, the church will have been involved in setting down the laws of a nation, providing guidance to the ruling body on what would be fair and equitable.

Mythology & Lore

It is said that Damash was born of the drive of the peoples of the worlds drive to bring civilisation to the ancient wilds of the world and with the founding of the first city he appeared in visions of the founders inspiring them to create laws that would protect the peoples and encourage the growth and enlightenment of the city.

Tenets of Faith

The Church of Damash is founded on the belief that just and lawful rule is a divine commandment and that the church should support those nations that spread this within their lands, they stand against unjust or tyrannical rulers as they aren't inspiring their populations by demonstration of the divine commandment. They often form courts of law in places they are numerous in number as they are impartial from the local rulers and can ensure a fair hearing unswayed by local political connections. They also have many roaming champions who seek out injustice and seek through lawful acts to change these, they will involve themselves in more aggressive actions to bring about a just and lawful rule if the established rule is corrupt beyond redemption, or truly evil in nature. They stand for the spread of true civilisation and can be found amongst pioneers trying to found new outposts in the wilds of the world. Acting as local judges or sheriffs, and healers for the founding peoples.
