Towns of The Westerstrum Empire

Asswhick

The town of Asswhick is one of Westerstrums northmost settlements. Primarily a small farming town, Asswhick is relatively undefended despite being a border town. This weakness was identified by the Oakenbust clans in 377 CT, leading to the town being ransacked.

Wyewold

Wyewold is located at the three way intersection on the highway between Westrum itself, Sleekdale, and Bridgstead. Due to its location, the town receives many visitors and has a thriving entertainment and lodging industry with many inns competing for customers with various attractions.

Caley & Cadun

Two towns just outside Sleekdale, separated by the Travesty River.

BroBrook

With minimal infrastructure, Brobrook is comprised of mostly temporary housing that has become permanently used.

Midlot

A proper naval town used as a western access point in addition to the ports of Sleekdale.

Equinloft

A small town just south of Bridgestead. The town is a popular retirement location for citizens of Bridgestead looking to find someplace less busy. Despite being just off the highway it does not receive many visitors due to its overall blandness.

Erbluff

Primarily funded through tourism, Erbluff is deemed one of Westerstrum's most visually appealing towns, with fine architectural design and surrounded by the stalled basin.

Shortroth

A small port town, it is mostly upheld by the local fishing and lumber industries.

Maelworth, Rockypost, Pewterbend, Manamell, Welterknock, Flatpoint, Corsadam, Bilgecrag, Guavaby & Elderham

These places are barely towns, instead housing new naval recruits as they are trained and readied for duty before being given a proper station. Each of these towns does have a respectable number of senior seamen, both to teach the new recruits, but also to ensure that the empire weak points aren't exploited.

Pegastead

Originally planned to be an additional training port, Pegastead was quickly filled with civilians and instead became more of a vacation retreat for the men of Maelworth when not on duty for longer periods of time.

Weltershade

Especially promising candidates are trained here instead of one of the normal training ports, they train with, and are commonly moved to Midlot. Weltershade also handles all sea bound trade for Midlot so its port can be used exclusively for naval access.

Port Pinna

Port Pinna serves two critical roles for the empire, first all land based trade from the Harken Trading Federation passes through Port Pinna. Secondly, it is used as a constant reminder to Harken of the empires abilities at sea, with complex drill constantly being run just outside the federation's coast, intent on being seen.

Quillbell, Castingmoor, Welterden, Frigidshale, Whitestille, Mudborne & Galewalk

Very small fishing towns fully dedicated to supplying the empire with an abundance of food.

Elmhood

Originally a proper port town, in 347 during what is assumed to have been an act of sabotage, the entire port was burned down. It has since been reborn as a small cultural arts village, the port was never rebuilt and it is a noticeable weak point in the empires coastal defenses.

Willowberg

Willowberg is a rather mundane place, however it is home to a specialized diving company.

Limecrest

Much to the disappointment of the council, the people of Limecrest have taken the harbor into their own control, and have begun aquafarming, using the docks to extend their available space. While this has bolstered the empires food supply, it has turned the town into a strategical weak point relying heavily on the recruits in training at Manamell for defensive coverage.

Sandy Port

With a large section of the coast being pleasant beaches, and being right between two naval training towns, Sandy Port has become a popular vacation spot, even for some Harks.

Devilstar

The primary naval access point of the south eastern coast, it is heavily armed.

Pentaden

A town still under construction, the empire is testing the structural limits of their harbors, intending to expand its dock space much farther into the waters then any other port

Mortarbell, Nethernook, Blanchall, Vassalhelm & Cinderstone

With the exception of Whitestille, all the towns surrounding the Displaced Gulf share the same primary purpose of maintaining the navy's vessels not currently in use. Should a mass conflict break out, a large section of the empires grand fleet would sail out from these towns.

Flatdeep

The town of Flatdeep is one of the empires strangest. Built on one of the most unusual geographic regions most have ever seen, a 14 mile wide flat 45 degree slope into the ocean. Nobody knows how the land got this way, very few believe it is natural. Most buildings are on stilts.

Drystand & Emberwaters

Once navy training ports, their close vicinity to each other lead to a strong sense of competition, which eventually turned the sailors more towards sport rather then combat. Nowadays the two towns host regular aquatic competitions which bring visitors from all over the empire.

Fallowwich

The ports of Fallowwich are frequently full, with Elderham and Port Pinna being dedicated to military usage, Fallowwich is the first port sea bound visitors from Harken can arrive at.

Opalscott

A moderately sized river town, it is home to a large and passionate panning industry.

Sisteralden

Using the mineral rich waters of the Kings Crossing, this town specializes in extraordinarily large vegetables.

Elkenforrest

Just across the road from Sisteralden, Elkenforrest is both a forestry town and a small nature preserve.

Owlvein

Located at the base of the mountains separating Westerstrum and Snowfall, Owlvein has been mining into the mountains of their neighbor.
