Jak’ra (a.k.a. The God of Flames)

One of the greater gods, Jak’ra is a benevolent being, viewing himself as the enabler of the many life forms that developed when the elemental realms merged. He takes an unusual amount of enjoyment in the chaos of mortals and beasts when compared to the other gods, having even created elementals in his realm to mimic those he sees in bregule.

Personal history

Jak’ra was first of the greater gods to come into existence, manifested by Nots anger. Born into full maturity he understood the pointlessness of trying to stop the conflict that birthed him, instead waiting for the other greater gods to arrive. Once the Astral Plane had stabilized, Jak’ra and the 4 other creator gods made the Material plane, each creating their own realms. He turned his realm into a most beautiful place, inhabiting it with flickering colors and structures that seemed both stable and wildly alive at the same time. His elementals brought him much pride, feeling like they were clearly the most powerful and visually appealing of all the creations he and his siblings brought into being. Had everything stayed this way he would have been most content, but as the realms of the creator gods expanded they eventually merged into Rufael’s realm of earth, an event that brought Jak’ra a sense of excitement he wasn’t aware he could feel.

Rufael, was easily the most angered by his realm being invaded, but Jak’ra was by far brought the most joy. He saw this as an opportunity, to show that his creations were truly superior, and even encouraged his elementals to cross the boundary between the realms, much to his brother’s aggregation. He was brought much enjoyment seeing the beings of earth unable to make contact with his formless creatures, watching the ice elementals melt into rivers, and then along with the creations of Suraz boil into vapor, but he was also humbled by some of his siblings efforts. His fire could not touch Suraz’ water without being extinguished and had to keep their distance, a restriction he felt they were undeserving of, and his sister’s flowing bodies of air were just as dangerous. This was only a bother to him for a short while before he was refueled with a sense of superiority.

Not all of the elementals now inhabiting the realm of earth contested each other, while bound to their creators whims, none of the gods kept full attention on every single being they created, and soon they began to notice creatures none of them had designed. While most of the gods view the birth of beasts as an oversight of theirs, something to be ashamed of, Jak’ra took to a completely different way of thinking. In his mind it made perfect sense, that the chaotic nature of his flames could not be controlled and would find their own way, he credits himself as responsible for such an event even being possible. He took a strong fondness for the resilience of nature and its ever changing ways, in his eyes it was the full realization of his realms potential. When his siblings began to talk of destroying these creatures, he threatened to burn all of their realms back to the dust they came from, forever destroying his brotherhood with Rufael in favor of an appreciation of nature.

With the birth of (life goddess) and Sla’krahn being reflections of the new forces at play, he took a fatherly view of them, much like the natural creatures, crediting himself for their existence. He continued to watch the now realm of beasts develop, bringing into his real elemental replicas of everything he saw. When the great wyrms developed he was the only god to not be disgusted by such powerful beings having come to be without their intent, even welcoming those who could survive into his realm.

Jak’ra developed an ego that his siblings regularly warned him about, he did not listen and eventually he brought to them his idea for a race of mortals to live among the beasts, the Duvrhen. The first mortal proved to be a disappointment, something the god of flames has never handled well, he urged the other gods to help him make them stronger. He got his way but nature still proved too strong, and so, driven by ego again, he decided to gift the Duvrhen the knowledge of celestial magic and invulnerability.
