Levels of Dread
When inside the Shadowfell each person who sleeps or trances receives a nightmare (Theren, Brandt, and Everan). Once waking up they must make a Wisdom Saving throw DC = 8+2*number of days taken a long rest inside the Shadowfell, (if slept inside brandt's amulet resets it).
Current DC = 8
If an adventurer fails this saving throw they take a level in Dread:
- Disadvantage on saving throws to avoid being feared, or charmed
- Movement speed is halved
- When performing an ability check don't add modifier on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma checks
- Disadvantage on Wisdom, Intelligence, and Charisma Saving Throws,
- Can only take either an action or bonus action, and can't take reactions
- Gain the prone condition, movement speed is 0 can't take actions, bonus actions, or reactions
- Protection from Evil and Good (lvl 1), Bless (lvl 1), Heroism (lvl 1)
- Protection from Evil and Good (lvl 2), Bless (lvl 2), Heroism (lvl 2), Calm Emotions (lvl 2), Lesser Restoration (lvl 2)
- Calm Emotions (lvl 3), Lesser Restoration (lvl 3), Beacon of Hope (lvl 3), Aura of Vitality (lvl 3), Remove Curse (lvl 3)
- Beacon of Hope (lvl 4), Remove Curse (lvl 4), Aura of Vitality (lvl 4), Aura of Purity (lvl 4),
- Aura of Purity (lvl 5), Dispel Evil and Good (lvl 5), Greater Restoration (lvl 5)
- Dispel Evil and Good (lvl 6), Greater Restoration (lvl 6), Heroes' Feast (lvl 6)
