History and calendar of Ashandri
As Ashandri is a young world even from a Human perspective, existing in Braythe since only four years, it is necessary to understand the history of Virthys, too. Most of the current inhabitants of Ashandri have seen the world get destroyed by the dragon god Zathruax. This means many of them lived most of their lives on this planet, and might even still consider Virthys their homeworld, not Ashandri.
The Arcanists, an organization of sages and spellcasters, have developed a new calendar for Ashandri, and actively try to get people to use it all over the world. Still, the old Virthys Calendar system is still used by some, simply counting on the days and years as if nothing happened. In some areas, people also use local calendars, either self-developed or taken over from Virthys. But the more time passes, the more people accept the Arcanist Calendar. By now, it has become the most common calendar system in the new world-isle.
