House Rules for Brave Rondo

Background Lore Proficiency

The lore skill proficiency you gain from your background and from the Lore ancestry feat increases as you level. At 3rd, 7th, and 15th levels, these lores' increase their proficiency to expert, master, and legendary respectively.

Ancestry Paragon

Optional Rule Ancestry Paragon   At 1st level, you gain two ancestry feats. At every odd level thereafter, you gain another ancestry feats. This is instead of the normal ancestry feat you gain at 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th.

Free Archetype

Optional Rule Free Archetype   At 2nd level and every even level thereafter, you gain an extra class feat that can only be used for an archetype dedication or an archetype feat. Only archetypes on the approved list can be used for this extra feat. Any ancestry feat that grants you an archetype dedication adds that archetype to the list.   Your normal class feats can still be used to take archetype feats for any archetype, including ones on this list.

New Conditions

A new condition has been added.

Taunted

You've been challenged or insulted during combat in a way that might influence you into attacking the creature that dared to draw your ire.   The taunted condition always includes a value and a target creature. You take a status penalty equal to this value to your attack rolls against creatures other than the target.   While taunted, other attempts to taunt you automatically fail. If you become frightened while taunted, you lose the taunted condition and become temporarily immune to this condition until you lose the frightened condition.   Unless specified otherwise, at the end of each of your turns, the value of your taunted condition decreases by 1.

New Actions

To go with the new condition, there is a new action to apply it.

Gibe

auditoryconcentrateemotionmental   Source Apostol Apostolov on GM Binder   With a vicious insult or a provoking display you draw the ire of a creature. Choose a creature within 30 feet of you who you're aware of. Attempt a Performance check against that target's Will DC. If the target does not understand the language you are speaking, or you're not speaking a language, you take a –4 circumstance penalty to the check. Regardless of your result, the target is temporarily immune to your attempts to Gibe it for 10 minutes.   As long as you are not threatened by other hostile creatures, if you make yourself flat-footed to attacks from that creature until the start of your next turn you get a +4 circumstance bonus to the check.   The GM should encourage their players to come up with fitting insults. A deeply personal or culturally intolerable provocation may apply a -1 or -2 status penalty to the target's Will DC, or affect the behavior of the target beyond the effect of the taunted condition.   Critical Success The target becomes taunted 3.   Success The target becomes taunted 2.   Critical Failure The target reads your feeble attempt to affect its decision in combat and becomes temporarily immune to any of your attempts to Gibe it for 1 day.

New Skill Feats

Some skill feats to build on the new action.

Hurtful Words
Feat 1

generalskill   Prerequisites trained in Intimidation   You can taunt with a carefully placed word. You can roll an Intimidation check instead of Performance check when using the Gibe action.

Rude Gesture
Feat 1

generalskill   Prerequisites trained in Performance   You can Gibe with a rude hand gesture. When you do, Gibe loses the auditory trait and gains the visual trait and requires you to have a free hand, you don't take a penalty if the creature doesn't understand your language.

Insightful Quip
Feat 7

generalskill   Prerequisites Wisdom 16; expert in Performance   In situations where you have had time to observe the target when you Gibe, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your Performance check. If your Wisdom score is 20 or higher and you are a master in Performance, this bonus increases to +2.   When a creature is hostile to you, you gain the circumstance bonus only after you have observed the target failing an attack roll, saving throw, or skill check.

Opening Remark
Feat 7

generalskill   Prerequisites master in Performance   When you roll initiative, you can yell an opening quip and Gibe an observed foe as a free action. If you’re legendary in Performance, you can use a reaction to Gibe your foe when you critically succeed at an attack roll.
