A Post Nuclear Community Proclamation

The Fallout 76 community as a whole has suffered from the actions of players who are far too willing to abuse and exploit the game even from it's earliest days.

Servers have been crashed intentionally to exploit unintended duplication of items in the past, disrupting our access to the world. Item duplication has led to sweeping changes to the loot reward system. As a result RNG has become more punishing over time. These actions have also irreparably damaged the in-game economy. Traders peddle duped wares knowingly and without fear of reprisal.

Weapons and equipment that shouldn't exist in the game plague our servers and damage the enjoyment of people who play legitimately. The players that wield these items do so brazenly and without worry, often to the detriment of others during public events.

Real money trade is rampant and has absolutely destroyed any sense of a fair economy. It has also contributed to problems in an already unbalanced PVP system. Entire systems and modes have been rendered useless or barren in the wake of these activities.

Bethesda itself has been historically been silent about these topics, but we do not have to be. As a community we can take a stance and say enough is enough.

For these reasons we proclaim that we will abide by the following tenets while playing in Fallout 76:

  1. We will not use weapons or equipment suspected or known to be hacked, duped, purchased through RMT, or otherwise gained through dubious means. Nor shall we tolerate the presence of such items.
  2. Griefing and harassment will not be tolerated or participated in.
  3. The game will be played as intended to the best of our ability and we will not knowingly exploit its systems.
  4. Other players will always be treated with respect in any and all interactions.
  5. It is our duty to report those among us who abuse the game and its citizens in these ways to Bethesda, in the proper manner, when encountered.

We implore you to join us in this effort and adopt these tenets for the betterment of the game and the community as a whole. And if you are so inclined, also join us in a show of solidarity by adding your name, or your organization, to the list of signatures on the proclamation itself.

We may not be able to stop these things from happening, or even implore Bethesda to act, but we can rise above it all together and declare a better way.
