Griffonsfurt

Overview

The City of Griffonsfurt is home to the ancestral stronghold of the Utharic family, founded by Markus "Wyrbane" Utharic I atop a grand hill, overlooking the city from the North. It is here that the first of the Dragonlords fell when the Wyrmbane King arose out of the Gladiator Pits and sparked the fires of a wide scale revolt against the Dragons. It is build on both sides of the Talon River and trades with both the Dwarven and Elven folk, serving as a pit stop for all that wish to head east towards the Crusader States. As such many a knight and pilgrim passes through, each searching for fame, glory and honor.   It also houses the Griffon's Aerie, the commanderie of the prestigious Order of the Griffon in it's southern banks. The city has a strong and prideful military tradition, with some of it's knights heading north to to test their mettle against the Kraal or East towards the Crusader States to prove their worth in the Demon Wastes. The ample mineral rich hills and fertile fields make it rich in resources and one of the biggest exporters of stone and metal in the kingdom.   Patron diety: Alric, God of Justice   With the fall of the Royal Line, the regency of the city has fallen onto the hand of two individuals. The first is that of the Griffonlord Commander, the Goliath Baron Ivor Bainum IV who handles and maintains the protection of the region. Much of the general judicial affairs are handled by the elven Pontiff Gwynn Cathasach.
