Meenee
I remember when this town was flourishing. The growth had settled in, people were happy and we were about to get some real traders in. But years ago, the Broodworths happened, and our little Meenee would never be the same again.Meenee was once a town like any other in Budston, but nowadays that's nowhere to be seen. The entire village is squalid, with run-down muddy roads and inhabitants moving out, looking for better pasture and living environment. However, if a band of heroes were to re-establish the status Meenee once had and yeet the usurpers out, it might just get back to what it used to be..
Demographics
The town is predominantly inhabited by humans, with the one oddball added in like an elf or a tiefling. But due to the low quality of life in Meenee, and the bad influence of the The Broodworth Clan, there is no place for other races to safely and contently live their lifes in this village.
Government
The town is officially obliged to pay taxes, but isn't required to do so for a long time. Not because of the Queen's mercy, but because it just doesn't have anything to pay. All the village's income is being funneled by the Broodworths at Grandstream Castle
The Broodworth family has a firm grip on what still happens in this town, but there isn't much to grip. By now, Budtown is only waiting for the last inhabitant to move away, and for the flame to finally burn out that has been burning the seedling for so long...
Defences
Honestly, it is a miracle that Meenee hasn't been plundered. By all accounts, it doesn't make sense. Meenee has not a single guard, law enforcement unit or an army outpost.
Industry & Trade
There are only a few farms left in Meenee, and the biggest farm is owned by Markus Hardgrain. The other inhabitants of Meenee have little left in this town. There are a couple farmers left and there is one windmill trying to make ends meet with the few grains the farms try to produce. But the Broodworths are driving their competition away. Soon Markus will be the only one left.
Infrastructure
There are few things left in Meenee that reminds people of the old days. Sewer systems are out of order, windmills and farms have thinned out and the roads are run down and muddy from too little upkeep. The Broodworths are the richest family in Meenee, and they've become that by systematically bringing the town to its knees.
Assets
There is not a single store in Meenee, they've all departed for better patrons. Only Markus might have some supplies for the road, but that's all there is to find.
Guilds and Factions
The Broodworth family is ruling over whatever is left in Meenee. They indirectly own the biggest farm, and have driven out most of the inhabitants due to terrorizing them, weirding them out or just straight up making their lifes miserable.
History
Meenee used to be a prosperous town like any other, profiting from the rich waters of the Grandstream that caused the farms to produce the best harvests in East Budston. Grandstream Castle used to be inhabited by the benevolent Lord Bansheth, but the Broodworths took over when he passed.
