    Population Migration / Travel

    With the ecosystem collapsing, the UN and large corporations begin to spearhead the Off-World Colony resettlement program, beginning with Luna and Mars.   Only those with wealth, health and education are allowed Off-World. Specials are forced to remain behind on a polluted Earth.

    Creation of the First Nexus
    Technological achievement

    With the design of the first bio-mechanical brain, Eldon Tyrell begins the era of thinking machines and produces the first Nexus Replicant: NX1-S33N, nicknamed "Hampton." Within a year, government funding has allowed Tyrell to mass produce Nexus models, boosting the Off-World Colony efforts exponentially.

    Criminal Activity

    Events of Blade Runner: Origins comic   After rebellions of self-aware replicants begin to hurt their bottom line, corporations like Tyrell push for the formation of Replicant Detect Units. These start in Los Angeles. Soon, every major city in the world boasts a RDU, with the exception of Finland.

    First Nexus 6s Released
    Technological achievement

    Almost indistinguishable from humans, the Nexus-6 model replicants are rolled out by Tyrell Corporation.   This move is condemned by major religions. However, it begins a new one: the Church of Universal Objective Consciousness, commonly called The Objectivists, starts with a small but wealthy church in LA and quickly spreads through the world.

    Dirty Bomb/Replicant Restriction Act
    Revolution

    Pockets of Replicants rebel against their condition. A Dirty Bomb is detonated in Los Vegas, Nevada, turning it into an atomic wasteland.   The UN reacts by quickly passing the Replicant Restriction Act, prohibiting all Nexus replicants on Earth and authorizing their summary execution or "retirement" upon discovery.

    Eldon Tyrell, the creator of the Nexus brain and owner of the Tyrell Corporation, is killed in his private apartment by a rogue Nexus-6.

    Supremist Riots
    Criminal Activity

    The Tyrell Corporation, trying to stabilize the markets, rush production of the Nexus-8 units.   Civil unrest leads to the company's records being subpoenaed by the World Court, and it hands over its entire database of Replicant identities to the UN.   When these are leaked and published, human supremist-led riots result in ongoing purges of Replicants worldwide. Replicants go into hiding.

    Events of Blade Runner:Black Out   Replicant freedom fighters explode EMPs, wiping out networks and deleting information worldwide. The interstellar economy collapses.   The Replicant Underground is blamed for the explosion.

    Replicant Prohibition
    Political event

    Replicant Prohibition Act: The UN passes a law requiring the termination of all Replicants.   Soon after, it announces the formation of the RUTF, the Replicant Underground Task Force tasked with ferreting out and destroying the underground. This expands RDU jurisdiction to police any crime involving humans breaking the Replicant Prohibition Act.

    Death of the last Nexus 6/Tyrell Corp Bankruptcy
    Financial Event

    The last Nexus 6 units reach the end of their four year lifespans. Replicant sympathizers turn him/her/them into a symbol: Six K. Graffiti reading SixK, 6K, or just XK honour the idea of human consciousness and has come to stand for replicant sympathy movement.   Tyrell Corporation declares bankruptcy. The once mighty Tyrell Complex is abandoned.

    In the face of worldwide famine, Wallace Corporation makes its patent on synthetic protein public domain.   People are fed and Off-World colonies are strengthened.

    Technological achievement

    As part of its research and development, Wallace Corporation discretely purchases Tyrell Corporation assets and begins to produce its own replicants.   Wallace Corporation becomes a household name, becoming one of the wealthiest corporations in the system. Among their innovations is the privatized Wallace Datalink Network and the DiJi JOi.
