Estra the Lady of the River

Estra is one of the worshipped deities, and was birthed from the initial chaos at the creation of the universe. She represents all power, but is mainly seen as the goddess of the arcane, and hence her plane has become known as the River Arcane. Whilst Estra is the embodiment of power, she is not greatly in control over it. Rather, she is the wall that dams the River Arcane and prevents it from overflowing into all of the planes. Because of her eternal duty, power can be harnessed by others in all its aspects in controlled forms. Estra is ignorant of mortals unless they offer some way to ease her task of maintaining the River Arcane, in which case she will use them to develop methods of increasing the order of the river. In the Lesser Realms she embodies herself as a strong woman with amazonian qualities, although she always appears exhausted as if just escaping some great horror.   Estra's main goal is to maintain the River Arcane and prevent its chaos from washing over the planes and tearing apart the laws of physics and reality as they are known. A disciple of Estra works to find ways to harness magic or power in controlled and channeled ways. Churches of Estra typically align with the Missions, although they are much more focused on gaining might themselves regardless of whether or not it is controlled. Missions will tend to lock down and gain more control over the power that is already known. One such mission that Estra's missionaries have underwent was harnessing the elemental magics into the spells that frequent the spell books and tomes of wizards everywhere such as Fireball or Thunderbolt.
