Eternals
Concordance Made Manifest
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Eternals come from many different sources. Some are innate to the Eternal Realms, formed from the very occult energies that shape it, while others are extra-realmic outsiders who have adapted to the realms after countless epochs. The most common type of native Eternal are the Celestials, who were all originally creations of the Progenitors and, thus, all share a common ancestry. Each group seeks to understand their respective Realm and, as a consequence, have become wholly subsumed with anima. Still driven by the Protocols of Preservation, the Celestials actively aim to use their command of anima to guide Existence away from Discord and toward Concordance. Of course, given the very nature of Perversion as a tool of Concordance, no single faction can agree on the best manifestation of the Protocols, leading to philosophical rivalries and all-out occult wars over ideology. The Celestials include the Aesir of Asgard, the Muses of Elysium, the Seraphim of Eden, the Archons of the Stasis, the Protean of the Xaos, the Devils of Hel, the Fiends of Tartarus, and the Demons of Abaddon. There are no Celestials native to the Nexus. All attempts to inhabit the Nexus by Celestials has resulted in existential evaporation.
The next most abundant type of native Eternal are the Primevals, who are naturally created by the abundant anima energies and ambient occult mageia of the Eternal Realms themselves. They have no connect to the Progenitors, the Protocols, or the Celestials. They are inherently more passive than their Celestial cousins, as they lack the ingrained compulsion towards Preservation that defines the Celestials. However, they still are driven by their intrinsic desires and values, and often find themselves tools of Concordance all the same. The Primevals include the Qucumatz and Sephirot of Asgard, the Arusi of Elysium, the Kinnari and the Orisha of Eden, the Inexorables of the Stasis, the Aeons of Nexus, the Ineffables of Xaos, the Nkishi of Tartarus, and the Qlippot of Abaddon. There are currently no native Primevals remaining in Hel. The Meshetani were all slain by the combined efforts of the Devils, the Asuras, and the Shaitan. Only Zargun al’Bargash, known as Sargon the Returner to occult scholars, and as Dhahagu in his own tongue, remains alive but imprisoned somewhere within the Temporal Realms. The final group of native Eternal are collectively known as the Terrestrials, as each group originally began existence somewhere else before settling in one the realms or are born via a mixture of multiple magic energies combining within a given Realm. Some were part of a misguided campaign by the other Realms to conquer their rivals, who have adapted to the raw occult mageia that saturated throughout this existence. Others still were even created specifically to assist the Celestials in the maintenance of a given realm. The Lammusa and Shedu of Asgard were created from combining raw quintessence and divine energy from occult mageia into Sphinx from the Astral Realms by the Aesir to aid in their surveillance of the Temporal Realms. The Nornir of Elysium are former Astral beings intrinsically compelled to guide the destiny of all beings within Existence. The geometric Hedrons of the Stasis were crafted by the Inexorables from abandoned Elementals. The Suva of Nexus are divinely enlightened mortal souls who have achieved occult apotheosis via the Astral Realms. The parasitic Slaan of Xaos were a disastrous accident resulting from the random combining of mortal souls with Protean anima and the raw psyche of Astral beings. The Asuras and the Shaitan of Hel are both invading forces from the Astral and Essential Realms respectively now trapped within the Infernal Planes. The Succubi of Tartarus are twisted mortal souls warped by the Fiends to lure weak-willed beings toward evil. The Div of Abaddon are the pathetic remnants of lost Elementals and Astral beings who were drawn to the Abyss and corrupted to its ruinous powers. There are no Terrestrial natives of Eden. Neither the native inhabitants nor the ambient energies of the Realm impose their design on others, ergo no such creatures have emerged from a combination of various mageia.
