Ser Jasper Arryn was the lord of the Vale after the long rule of his father was ended with his disloyal murder at the hands of the rebel Danelle Lothston, Jasper was sent to the Wall in the year of 219 on charges of treason and plotting against the king by Lord Gormon Peake after proof of his intentions to betray the Crown were presented by his vassal, Lord Ryam Redwyne.

Jasper had good relations with his in-laws of House Templeton and with Lord Blackwood. Lord Rolland Redfort was a staunch supporter of his since before he ascended to lordship in the Vale.
