Treant
Treants are a species of sentient trees that acts as wardens for ancient forests. They occur naturally, though can be instigated by the influence of Dryads or powerful druids.

Generally Treants have a name referencing the type of tree they are.
History
Treants are guardians fo the forest, first created by Dryads, but seem to occur without influence in ancient forests. Most Treants are reflections of their forests and are generally protective, and can be helpful to those who have shown a respect for nature. On the other hand, there are outliers such as Tears of the Willow, who has become extremely cynical and depressed after his old forest was taken over by the Hool Marshes.
