Battle-fleet Ilyxis did not exist before the opening of the
rift , as the
Ilyxis Sector was still considered too wild and underdeveloped to warrant a permanent navy presence. Instead, much of its defense was relying upon the Rogue Trader dynasties overseeing its colonization.
The core of the battle-fleet consists of a battle-group of ships that served as a patrol unit, now stuck on the wrong side of the rift with little hope to reach their original posts and a great demand for their services in the sector. It is further enhanced by the surviving escorts of a
star fort that has managed to rally to
Coriolis and is now itself serving as the base of operations for the Navy.
Command
From among the officers in the haphazard fleet, Isandros Golgotha was nominated as Lord-Admiral of the sector. In his duties he is assisted by Rear-Admiral Kyros Cantrell, who serves as his right hand on a permanent post aboard Sector Command.

The main bulk of the battle-fleet is wrapped up in this battle-group, primarily stationed in Coriolis so that it may respond in force to any threat large enough to warrant its us. They expend their strength only when the stakes are high, for
Coriolis Alpha can only produce escorts at a high enough rate to combat attrition.
