Elerium exposure is a condition that is a byproduct of Elerium. Those who are exposed are turned into what are zombies. The time before the point of no return varies by species, with Remnant being the most resistant and MouseKin being the most vulnerable. There is a running theory among many different researchers that there is a possibility that someone infected to survive exposure while retaining their sanity, although this has not been proven. Many explorers of High Exposure Risk Areas have reported that some infected are speaking but it is usually fragmented memories of their past lives some also have been reported to have the ability to use weaponry although not well enough to be considered a threat.
