Class Restriction Rules

Which classes are available for Beyond the Boundary West Marches character creation?   This article outlines the classes and we will list in the section below if there is any approved subclasses.

Artificer (Tasha's Cauldron of Everything)

      Note: Subclasses banned - Alchemist*    

Alchemist

Alchemist class which is a non spell caster using alchemy (reason why Alchemist subclass for artificer TCE is banned)      

Barbarian (PHB)

  *Note: Subclasses allowed for all races - Battlerager  

Bard (Galder's Gazettee)

  Reworked to be a half caster. The Bard now gets magical secrets from the following rework page in addition to the Galder's Gazettee features displayed in the document below.     The class rework outlined here:   Click here   The additional feature the half caster bard from Galder's Gazettee is outlined in the article below:   Half Caster Bard - Magical Secrets   * Note: Subclasses restricted some abilities: College of Spirits & College of Eloquence    

Blood Hunter(Homebrew MattMercer 2020)

Martial class that provides support without spell slots (very akin to dancers from final fantasy)

Puglist

Unarmed Brawler and street fighter style class to work as a substitute for Monk and it's eastern themes of Ki. Although similar it plays and we've changed the Armour and unarmoured to be an in between of a Monk and a Barbarian.      

Ranger (Rework document + Tasha's Extra Features)

  To play the ranger you must be a martial class with no spell slots outside of a few subclasses.   Taron 'indestructoboy' Pounds has written the rework guide here:   Click here   Additionally here for the features of the Ranger Revision - How it interacts with Tasha's Extra features and gains Healing   Martial Ranger - Poultices and Tasha's Extra Features   Work with your GM in converting your third party subclass of choice.   Additionally there is another two homebrews created by DM Souda, a second caster subclass here: Haruspex Conclave   Haruspex Conclave - Ranger   and the warlock spell slot style subclass: Unseen Presence Conclave here:   Unseen Presence Conclave - Ranger   * Subclasses in this previously banned are now allowed. (Fey Walker conclave is allowed. Still banned: Gloom Stalker(XGE), Monster Slayer (XGE) & Swarmkeeper (TCE)

Warden

The Warden lets you take control of the battlefield and shelter your flimsy allies from harm, while marking and eliminating a single target at a time and absorbing any punishment your foes throw your way. It's very close to a peeler/tank disabler from RPG games and MOBA style games.    

Warlock (PHB)

   

Warlord

The Warlord is a strategist class that can give buffs, bolstering the morale with their martial prowess and proven track record. Some of the features allow you to give up one of your extra attacks to allow an ally to have one more extra attack on their turn.    

Wizard (PHB)

  The following races are not allowed in Beyond the Boundary Westmarches.
