T-Handle Shovel & Cover
This is a standard shovel with a T-shaped handle. It does not come apart or fold like the Klappspaten. Issued to American troops early in the war with a short handle version issued to Paratroops. The fabric or leather cover was attached to the belt b the hip with the blade of the shovel being buckled into the cover and the handle hanging down by the soldier's leg.
Hindrance: Unfortunately almost all entrenching tools hindered the movement of the soldier when worn hanging from the belt as they were designed to do, thus the entrenching tool and carrier caused –2 to all attack rolls and skill tests while worn.
