Sign Language - Military
(Wis) Trained Only
In difference to normal sign language, military sign language deals entirely in military words and terms put into hand gestures for the silent sending of messages over short distances within eye contact.
Check: The player of the character sending the message writes a short message on a scrap of paper (no more than ten written words) and hands it to the Gamemaster. All characters that can see the signing character make a DC 10 + 1 for each 10ft of distance between the sender and the viewer. Those who pass the check understand the message and may read the note; those who failed could not understand the message or their vision to the hand gestures was obscured.
No skill test is taken to send a message, only to understand it.
Take 10 or 20?: No.
Time: The sending of a message is done as a full round action. This may be speed up as a move action but the starting DC becomes 14 before any modifiers are added.
