Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf D
Generally the Ausf A, B, and C models saw limited combat and spent most of their time with training companies training up new Panzer crews. In 1939 the Panzer IV Ausf D went into production with a little over 220 vehicles being produced. This model went on to become one of the main versions that Allied troops would meet in combat during he early stages of the war, along with the Ausf E model of which over 230 were manufactured starting in 1940.
