Munitionsschlepper

Almost all of the early Panzer models (I, II, III, and IV) saw conversion into the role of the Munitionsschlepper. The turret was removed and an armored plate bolted over the turret ring. Ammunition and other supplies where then packed into the vehicles as best as the crews could manage. Some Munitionsschleppers even included flatbed trays welded to the top of the hull to give extra carrying copacity.

The vehicles served as an armored ammunition and supply vehicle that accompanied various units in the field to supply them with ammunition while on active assignment. Commonly Munitionsschleppers accompanied Flak or Artillery vehicles that did not have the space to carry their own ammunition load.

Carrying Capacity: The capacity of a Munitionsschlepper varies greatly depending upon the modifications to the superstructure. Some vehicles simply had the turret ring closed over, while others had an armored flat bed tray added to increase carrying capacity. Plus equipment boxes were also stored lashed to the hull. As a basic estimation assume that a Panzer I Munitionsschlepper could carry between 500 lb to 1500 lb of equipment, with an increase of 250 lb per Ausf model up from the Panzer I (eg: 750-1750 lb for the Panzer II).

Stats: Use the stats of the Panzer model with the assumption that the turret is removed. If there is a flatbed tray, the tray has an armor value equal to the top armor of the hull of the vehicle.
